The Nunn Center is in Good Hands

Doug Boyd, Director of the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History, was recently elected to the council of the Oral History Association.

The Oral History Association (OHA), established in 1966, seeks to bring together all persons interested in oral history as a way of collecting and interpreting human memories to foster knowledge and human dignity. With an international membership, the OHA serves a broad and diverse audience. Historians, librarians and archivists, students, journalists, teachers, and academic scholars from many fields have found that the OHA provides both professional guidance and a collegial environment for sharing research.

Doug has served on numerous program committees for OHA organizing pre-conference workshops, has served as the chair of the OHA nominating committee and is active on the OHA website committee authoring and coordinating content for the new technology section. More recently, Doug was named an editor for OHA-L, the Oral History Association’s listsev which is part of the H-List.

Doug was also elected recently to the Oral History Steering Committee for the Society of American Archivists. On the state level, Doug serves on the Advisory Board of the Kentucky Oral History Commission.
